A special note on seasickness:
YOU are the motor, and a seasick motor is a non-paddling motor. If you
have been subject to seasickness before, it is likely you will be
again. Please take precautions.
We recommend a minimum dose of any over-the-counter
medication the night before and again the morning of the trip, or a
Scopolamine patch, which requires a doctor's prescription,
along with a decent breakfast. Avoid greasy foods and lots of coffee. A
good night's sleep and limited alcohol intake the night before is wise.
It is not unusual for someone to be put ashore after only 45 minutes at
the end of the road to be retrieved by someone from our shop. That is a
very expensive and disappointing lesson about motion sickness. We will
be compassionate to a point
but compassionate all the way to the bank!
Summary
- 17 mile coastline one way
- 6 hours of intermittent paddling
