Wailua River Paddle

This guided tour is currently being offered while Sacred Falls Trail is inaccessible due to Hurricane Lowell. This serene journey is perfect for families, senior adventurers, and anyone looking for a gentle yet enriching experience on the water. This tour is being offered Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Fitness Level:
Family Friendly: Participants should be comfortable in the water.
Rough Water:
Moderate: Except for the occasional boat wake, the Wailua River is very calm. Expect head-winds on the return paddle.
Duration (2.5–3 HRS.):
Afternoon Adventure: Time includes briefing, gearing-up, paddling, easy sightseeing and returning to the marina.

Worth every penny!! The kayak portion was beautiful and serene. The hike to the waterfall was lovely. Not difficult at all. Just know when u go in the winter time it is very slippery and u need to have proper shoes. Our guide Lindsey was awesome. She is knowledgeable and kept us at a slow calm pace and was so friendly. My husband chose the veggie sandwich and it was fabulous. Every veggie and even tofu!! The whole home is covered with shade so it was a really nice walk. Not steep at all. Thank u Lindsey!

Great place to rent kayaks for a river trip. Easy pick up and return- just know that the parking situation at the put in ramp is tight. Plan accordingly in terms of time.

This was hands down one of the most magical days of my life. Getting to experience the history, the scenery, the beauty and magic of this island with the Incredible IZZY ♡
She was the absolute best vibe for our group of 3, and showed us so much individual love. Took her time with our group, we got lucky it was not busy so our experience seemed VIP for sure.
Most beautiful experience with a beautuful soul.

Izzy was our tour guide on 11/15 and she is amazing! She shared some amazing information about the islands, the area, some hang out spots and great food ideas. I truly love how Kayak Kauai operates and Izzy is a shining example of that. I cannot say enough great things. The water was fantastic and so was the kayak and hike. What an incredible experience! Izzy was our guide to the Sacred Falls and she not only shared the history and spiritual significance of everything on the tour, but she had animal friends along the way that my daughter was able to interact with. There were other tours going from other companies while we were on the water and Kayak Kauai had the most professional equipment and service. Next time we go to Kauai, my family will book the sea kayaking adventure!

Kayaking up river was much easier than I expected. The hike to the waterfall had huge dramatic tall trees, beautiful flowers and a boardwalk for part of it which was easier than walking in the mud. I wore rubber sandals to cross the first crossing and in the waterfall pool and hiking boots the rest of the time which worked out well. Standing under the stunning waterfall at the end of the hike was so refreshing! If only there weren't so many tourists there! ?. The staff at Kayak Kauai were very friendly and helpful. A fun day overall!

Truly a must-do experience on Kauai! We had Izzy as our tour guide who was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. The lore of the valley, the island, navigating the river, all of it. There were even two birds on the trail (Elle and Rosie) who recognized her and followed us, and we stopped to dig up and feed them some worms. She’s so down to earth, truly a great guide and a great person. Add on how the river is beautiful and leads to a high, majestic waterfall, I can’t recommend Kayak Kauai enough.

This is a mild paddle and a moderate hike, mostly due to the mud and rocks, but it’s definitely doable and highly recommended.

The Secret Hanalei Blue Lagoon paddle and snorkel. If you have some kayaking experience and love an adventure that involves a river with an incredible view, the ocean with some potential challenges, and snorkeling with giant Sea turtles in the aptly named Blue Lagoon... this is the excursion for you!
Jay was our guide, and oh my gosh, his knowledge and explanation of everything in Kauai made the whole trip that much better. From the trees to the ocean, he could answer any question and provide a rich history. I'm over 50, and this was my first time in Hawaii. When envisioning a trek and beach, THIS was it.
The lunch was excellent and included fresh pineapple and passion fruit, with more than enough chips and drinks. The snorkeling was fabulous, and I'm now a huge fan of the Sea Turtles.
The breakers were up to 8 feet that day and presented a challenge, but oh man, was it fun!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat, and Jay was right there to guide us and keep everyone safe and having fun. Part of being a good guide is reading the group and conditions, and I know they have other options if the challenge is too great.
I highly recommend this tour group and will absolutely be back for more!

Absolutely outstanding day. Our guide Izzy was fun, knowledgeable and high energy. She even stopped along the trail to dig for worms so we could hand feed a bird. She let our tour set the pace. Next time we are in, we will definitely ask for Izzy! Very manageable paddle and hike. Lunch provided was good, plenty of water and catered to gluten free. Would highly recommend this outfitter.
